Nothing leaves your Mac.
WarmCam is a macOS virtual camera developed by Peter Dongo (“we”, “us”). This page explains what the app handles and how. The short version is the headline.
What data we collect
None. WarmCam does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no user accounts, no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no third-party SDKs. The app does not assign you an identifier or track usage in any way.
What WarmCam does with your webcam feed
Frames are read from your camera, enhanced locally on your Mac’s GPU (skin smoothing, color and lighting, anti-glare, background blur), and forwarded to a system Camera Extension that exposes them as a virtual camera. Frames are held in memory only as long as needed to render the next one. They are never written to disk and never transmitted over a network.
Background blur
The optional blur separates you from your background using Apple’s on-device Vision framework. The analysis runs entirely on your Mac. No image data is sent to Apple or anyone else, and nothing is stored.
Custom LUTs and per-app presets
Any .cube file you import (Pro+) is copied into the app’s local storage and never uploaded. Per-app presets store only the bundle identifier of the app you choose, locally, so WarmCam can apply the right look automatically.
Network access
WarmCam connects to the network for one purpose: processing in-app purchases through Apple’s StoreKit framework. Those connections are made by the operating system to Apple’s servers and are governed by Apple’s privacy policy. We do not see your Apple ID, payment information, or purchase history.
Third-party services
None. No analytics tools, no SDKs beyond Apple’s system frameworks (AVFoundation, CoreMediaIO, Vision, Metal, StoreKit, SwiftUI). No advertising and no tracking technology.
Permissions
WarmCam requests camera access to capture frames for enhancement. You grant it through the standard macOS prompt and can revoke it any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
WarmCam also installs a System Extension (“WarmCam Camera”) to present a virtual camera to other apps. Remove it any time in System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions → Camera Extensions.
Children’s privacy
WarmCam is not directed at children under 13. Because we collect no information from anyone, we collect no information from children either.
International users
WarmCam works the same way for everyone, everywhere. Because no data is collected or transmitted, there is no cross-border data transfer to disclose.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, the new version is posted at this URL with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes are noted in the release notes of the next app update.
